User Agreement

Effective October 27, 2026 · Outlays 2.0 · Seventh Software

This agreement is between you and Seventh Software, the provider of Outlays. It applies to your use of Outlays 2.0 and related support. Please read it together with our Privacy Policy and End User License Agreement. Downloading or using Outlays indicates that you accept the applicable terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

What Outlays does

Outlays is a tool for manually recording expenses and refunds, attaching receipt photos, planning budgets and recurring bills, and importing or exporting records. It does not connect to bank accounts, execute payments, provide lending or investment services, or offer financial, tax or legal advice. A remaining budget is calculated from your entries and estimates; it is not a verified bank balance. Check your records and calculations before relying on them.

Your records and responsibilities

You retain your rights to the records and photos you add. You are responsible for entering accurate information, having the right to use imported content, keeping your device secure, and maintaining backups. Do not use Outlays for unlawful activity, infringe another person’s rights, or interfere with the app’s security. You must have the legal capacity to accept this agreement or use the app with the permission of a parent or guardian where permitted by applicable law and store rules.

Local storage, imports and backups

Records and attached photos are stored on your device. No Outlays account is required. CSV exports contain expense records; JSON backups also contain categories, budgets and recurring schedules. Receipt photos are not included in these exports. Automatic cross-device sync is not provided. Review imports and keep a backup before changing devices or uninstalling the app.

During an upgrade from the original iOS app, Outlays reads a copy of the original database and imports supported records. The original database is retained locally as a safeguard. Removing a new journal entry does not erase that retained original. Detached receipt files may remain locally until uninstallation. Operating system backups and files you export must be managed separately. See the Privacy Policy for retention details.

App stores, pricing and refunds

The relevant store listing shows the applicable price, device requirements and availability before download. Apple or Google handles store transactions and refunds under its rules and applicable consumer law. Beta availability and features can change during testing. Descriptions of future features are not a promise of availability. Any future paid feature would disclose its price and terms before purchase; this agreement does not authorize a subscription or recurring charge.

Permissions and external destinations

Camera and photo selection are optional. You choose whether to grant access and which files to import or share. Services you choose for sharing, storage or support operate under their own terms and privacy policies. Outlays does not choose recipients or automatically upload your financial records.

License and intellectual property

The app is licensed, not sold. Seventh Software and its licensors retain rights in the app’s software, name, artwork and design. Your use of the software is governed by the applicable EULA. This does not transfer ownership of your records to Seventh Software. For the Apple app, Apple’s Standard EULA governs the software license and prevails if these terms conflict with it.

Availability and changes

We may provide updates to fix defects, improve compatibility or change features. Device and store requirements may change. We do not promise uninterrupted availability or that all defects can be corrected. Material changes to these terms will be dated on this page and, where required, communicated through the app or store before they take effect. Changes do not reduce rights you already have under mandatory law.

Warranties, liability and consumer rights

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Outlays is provided as available without a guarantee of suitability for a particular purpose or complete accuracy of user-entered records. Seventh Software is not responsible for losses caused by inaccurate entries, unavailable devices, or missing user backups to the extent the law allows. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud or other non-excludable conduct, or removes mandatory warranties, remedies, refund rights or protections available under local consumer law.

Ending use and resolving concerns

You may stop using Outlays at any time. Export needed records before uninstalling. We may end the software license for a material violation subject to applicable law and the EULA; this does not give us remote access to or a right to delete your local records. Your mandatory local legal protections and access to competent courts remain available. Contact support@seventh.dev for support or a concern about these terms.
