Walk through a genuinely fresh start
Review the experience on a supported device as a new user would encounter it. Check the public description, initial screens, empty states and the first meaningful action. Understandable copy is part of the product.
Include common interruptions such as a denied optional permission or an unsuccessful network request. Record what the user sees and whether the next action is clear.
Prepare accurate public information
Make screenshots, descriptions and support information match the version people will receive. Explain features with actual behavior and keep claims supportable. Confirm that relevant policy and contact pages are reachable.
Review the current requirements of the distribution channel you plan to use. Treat those official instructions as an ongoing responsibility, because a checklist written months ago may no longer be complete.
Assign the work after release
Decide who reviews support requests, tracks reported problems and coordinates the next update. Agree on how to distinguish a widespread issue from a confusing instruction or a feature suggestion.
Use early feedback to improve the journey rather than immediately expanding the feature list. A small correction to onboarding can resolve a recurring question more effectively than another screen.
Your small, useful checklist
